New Zealand Adventures | Life of a Travelling Photographer
"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer." - Unknown AH! Where do I begin?! What an absolute whirlwind the last month and a half have been! I went to Toronto and had a fabulous week & then was off to New Zealand! Jim (...my now FIANCE`...feels so cool saying that) is originally from New Zealand, so we do travel back often. I have a few mixed emotions about returning, because it is where dad passed away, but it is such a beautiful place filled with lovely people, that it is hard not to! Jim took my friend Meg (from Ram Head Outfitters) Tahr hunting the first few days, while I did some catching up with friends. I got to spend ...

"The best kiss is the one that has been exchanged a thousand times between the eyes before it reaches the lips." I originally met these two at a friend's wedding that I was taking photos for...& I was thrilled when they asked me to be their photographer! It was so much fun spending the afternoon together & "hiking" into Johnston canyon. They were such troopers....and their admiration for one and other gives me goosebumps. It is beyond words describing how easy it is to work with couples so in love, everything just comes natural to them. I am stoked for their wedding next year! (...talk about organized ;))   This has been one of my fav ...

It was great to meet him, catch up with her & have a few laughs...oh and take their engagement flicks ;) It was such a mild winter day, in a beautiful spot. I have been loving catching up on my blog posts! I lov ...

Basic Essentials | A Photography Class
"The more I learn, the more excited I get." - Johnny Cash (thank you to Randi & Aurora Images for the photos) GOOD morning, everyone!! I have been getting quite a few enquiries lately about photography & the basics of the DSLR camera...so I decided to host a course!! 2 years ago, I attended a course held by Meg Courntey & that is when I really got my start. I was so thankful for having the basics put into terms I could understand. This was great, because it is super easy to get bogged down online looking up different aspects of your camera & photography in general! I of course know that I still have so much to learn, but I wo ...

Have you ever watched two people so completely in love; the way they interact and smile at one and other? I originally met Kevin & Vennisha at Timmy's for a coffee & as soon as I saw them come in I could tell how in love they were. After having a short conversation, I was immediately excited for their photos & to be able to capture something so rarely found now a days...true love! The day came for their photos, and it was perfect for a winter session. Seeing them together gave me goosebumps, and made me even more excited for their big day!! The random color of the spruce tree really caught my eye! ...and how gorgeous is her ri ...

A Return Ticket & Realization
A few weeks ago, I saw a quote that resinated with me. - "We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone." (I immediately pinned it & added it to my website...haha!) It brought me back to my "why". I have been taking photos professionally for about two and a half years now. Prior to this my dad used to tease me about not taking any. I have no idea why I didn't, maybe I was too busy or caught in the moment at a particular time...it was two and a half years ago that dad passed, and ever since then I have regretted the moments I did not capture. We spent quite a few days together (with mom) in New Zealand & I would hassle h ...

Show me love ♡ It's not often that I tear up during a session, but something about my friends, their love, in a beautiful location on the back of my camera brought some water to my eyes....or maybe it was the wind in my face. (haha) Either way, the afternoon was magical, don't you think?! This photo seriously makes me smile every time I see it! There is something about capturing the connection between two people that I absolutely love. Often, it isn't the perfectly posed photos that tug at your heart strings, but those moments between; when you can feel the love from a photo. Happy Monday!

Brad & Chelsea | Kicking Horse Mountain Wedding
"The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man" I have known Chelsea for a few years now, and travelled a bit together. With this, I found out how adventurous her soul is and it is something I truly admire. I am so happy that she has found someone to compliment her ever-seeking personality....and even more thrilled they asked me to photograph their wedding!! It was a perfect relaxed day, with a quaint audience at hand. It gives me goosebumps just thinking back to the day! Their ceremony was intimate and emotional. Afterwards we explored the mountain tops and found some great places for photos! If you a ...
