Clayton & Cheryl | Roundhouse Wedding Portraits

“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unnatractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.” – the things we say

I was super nervous for this session… not because of the couple, but because it was mostly shot indoors & that is definitely not my forte. It was so nice to be able to take the session slow & have such an understanding couple as I fumbled through settings (…or at least that is how I felt, especially with my T-rex arm!). Sometimes I feel like I struggle a bit with posing; these two made my job so easy. I think the reason it is easy for them is because they are comfortable with one and other. I absolutely fell in love with the images on the back of my camera & the 4 hour drive home was almost torture…I couldn’t wait to have them on my big screen. The rustic reds, and bright whites made such a lovely backdrop for her textured dress. The Roundhouse building is a stunning piece of history!

Gosh, I just love this session, it is definitely going to stick in my mind for quite some time. I’m not sure whether it was the love they share, the ease of being around them, the quiet atmosphere of the shoot, the location, or a combination of everything….but it gives me little goosebumps looking through the outcome.

I am currently booking 2016 weddings, and my weekends are quickly filling (which is crazy!)…. if you are interested, let me know – I would love to hear from you 🙂

Stay With Me | McGlynn Family
When I first booked this family session, I thought nothing of it. I had taken photos for them previously, and loved it. They were a young vibrant, beautiful family. I knew Dale had been fighting cancer, and they had just welcomed a baby boy into the world. It is an honour to be asked to take photos at the best of times & I always try my best to capture my clients, but this was a bit different. Not only was it a huge undertaking, I had to go about it in a different manner. I was not trying to capture my client's best sides, in the best possible light, with an amazing background. Rather, I was capturing the raw emotion of a family losing a ...

"There is nothing more rare, nor beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty" - Dr. Steve Maraboli I have known Mandy for quite some time now and have always admired her natural beauty. She is someone who has such an amazing sense of style and a great personality to go with it - every photographer's dream. SO when she asked me to take maternity photos for her, I couldn't resist! Not only did we have fun & laughs taking photos, we had a great catch up too. I love how radiant she is, and can only hope if one day I am pregnant I can look this g ...
