Clayton & Cheryl | Roundhouse Wedding Portraits

“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unnatractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.” – the things we say

I was super nervous for this session… not because of the couple, but because it was mostly shot indoors & that is definitely not my forte. It was so nice to be able to take the session slow & have such an understanding couple as I fumbled through settings (…or at least that is how I felt, especially with my T-rex arm!). Sometimes I feel like I struggle a bit with posing; these two made my job so easy. I think the reason it is easy for them is because they are comfortable with one and other. I absolutely fell in love with the images on the back of my camera & the 4 hour drive home was almost torture…I couldn’t wait to have them on my big screen. The rustic reds, and bright whites made such a lovely backdrop for her textured dress. The Roundhouse building is a stunning piece of history!

Gosh, I just love this session, it is definitely going to stick in my mind for quite some time. I’m not sure whether it was the love they share, the ease of being around them, the quiet atmosphere of the shoot, the location, or a combination of everything….but it gives me little goosebumps looking through the outcome.

I am currently booking 2016 weddings, and my weekends are quickly filling (which is crazy!)…. if you are interested, let me know – I would love to hear from you 🙂

“He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give. Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don’t exist, b ...

"You keep me safe. I'll keep you wild." - Atticus There is something so brave & romantic about eloping. I feel like it encompasses what a wedding is supposed to be; focusing on your love for each other & not getting caught up in everything else that usually comes with your big day. My love and admiration for Dan & Hadleigh grew throughout their day. My heart fluttered as they exchanged their personalized vows & had their first kiss. I couldn't help but smile behind the camera at the way they looked at one and other. Truly in love. Flowers by: Elements Florals Canmore   Helicopter: Rockies Heli Canada ...
