Peter & Amanda | Pyramid Lake Engagement Session

“A soulmate is a meeting of mind, spirit & body with someone whose strengths, flaws & energy perfectly compliment your own. It is steady ground. A shelter in a storm. A point on a map when you are wayward & lost. The promise of a place to come home to for as long as you are here in the world.” – Beau Taplin

Peter & Amanda were the lucky winners of my Instagram giveaway! Their engagement story (which included their puppy) stole my heart!! We shared a fun afternoon together filled with so much love & lots of laughs in such a gorgeous location. How lucky are we to live so close to such a beautiful place?!

Lots of nerves and insecurities arise prior to a session. My commitment is to calm those nerves and create a whole experience for your session, beyond stiff poses. I can honestly say all you need is love & I will do the rest. I never realized how much you can learn from a couple (or family) by taking their photos. I absolutely LOVE love & documenting it. These two obviously killed their session & I should have a six pack from all of the laughing we did.

I still have a couple of openings for 2017 weddings & availability for engagement sessions! If you are interested, please send me a message! I would love to hear from you!

Warmly,

Ang

A Return Ticket & Realization
A few weeks ago, I saw a quote that resinated with me. - "We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone." (I immediately pinned it & added it to my website...haha!) It brought me back to my "why". I have been taking photos professionally for about two and a half years now. Prior to this my dad used to tease me about not taking any. I have no idea why I didn't, maybe I was too busy or caught in the moment at a particular time...it was two and a half years ago that dad passed, and ever since then I have regretted the moments I did not capture. We spent quite a few days together (with mom) in New Zealand & I would hassle h ...

"Let someone love you just the way you are - as flawed as you might be, as unnatractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room." - the things we say I was super nervous for this session... not because of the couple, but because it was mostly shot indoors & that is definitely not my forte. It was so nice to be able to take the session slow & have such an understandi ...
